Earth Angel

This video is making its way around facebook lately.

Severn gave this speech at the UN Earth Summit in 1992. She is now 30 years old and travels the world speaking about these issues. Hers is the global voice I resonate with. The prophet does not tell the future. The prophet tells the people what is happening right now, with clarity of hindsight and foresight. Realizing she took this step 17 years ago is like someone reading “Sand County Almanac” or “The Lives of a Cell” for the first time, realizing a prophetic voice has penetrated the future/present day.

This speech makes me weep.

As my mother taught me, weeping is different from crying. Crying is an emotional response. Weeping is a soul response.
