What if he is a Muslim?

“He’s (Obama) always been a Christian. But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer’s no, that’s not America. Is there something wrong with some 7-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president?”

–Gen. Colin Powell addressing the polarizing rhetoric used by Republicans this year against Barack Obama.

Wise words in the midst of a fury of calculated slander. For instance, McCain’s “spreading the wealth” phrase turned into accusations of Marxism. Joe Biden’s incredulous response to the accusation was healthy. In reality, the tax plan Obama has outlined is quite similar to Reagan’s in his first term. America has always balanced her budget by redistributing wealth. That is economy for you.

After Gen. Powell made that much needed statement, as quoted above, the media proceeded to ask “experts” if his endorsement of Obama was really significant or not. What a lousy way to address the voice of reason. General Powell can be admired for stating the obvious, while it seems most others have lost their minds.

Pass on Gen. Powell’s words please, they are an important thread of truth in this process.

I watched The Daily Show last night and couldn’t believe my ears and eyes when they showed the clip of Joe the damn Plumber now acting as a rep. of the Republican ticket, heading a rally. Someone stood up and said they had heard Obama in office would mean death to Israel. Joe responded that he agreed. When Fox News followed up with Joe and asked him why he would agree with that statement, Joe responded, “I’ll push it on the viewers to decide why I would have said that.”

The anchor on Fox said that Obama has made it abundantly clear that he will preserve our relations with Israel at all costs. He went on to show his utter disgust at Joe the Plumber. Thank you God for Fox News showing some sort of a conscience at that moment.

Joe the Plumber has been found to not have a plumbing license. And has been known by people in his town as a self-proclaimed racist. This is what the McCain/Palin ticket is supporting. What sickening garbage.
